Former Special Agent Michael Grimm (FBI/USMC) (R-NY-13) of Staten Island, NY will be running against Cong Mike McMahan (D-NY-13).  Mike Grimm was born in Brooklyn and was raised in Queens; he graduated from Arch Bishop Molloy High School in 1988.  Michael Grimm received a BBA in accounting from M. Baruch College in 1994.  In 2002 he graduate from New York Law School and received a JD (Magna Cum Laude), and is a member of the New York and Connecticut Bar.     
 
Mike Grimm entered active duty in the US Marine Corps on July 6, 1989 to January 20, 1990, and entered the active reserves upon release from active duty.  On December 1, 1990he was activated for operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm.  On March 2, 1991 he received a Combat Promotion Meritoriously to Corporal (E-4).  He was awarded the Combat Action Ribbon, the US Navy Unit Commendation Ribbon, the Meritorious Unit Commendation Ribbon and other theatre medals for combat service.  Corporal Grimm was discharges from the US Marine Corps Reserves on June 28th, 1997 (the FBI didn’t want employees in the active reserves at that time).
 
Mike Grimm entered the FBI as a professional Support Employee in 1991, in 1993 he was Deputized as a US Marshal and uniformed FBI Police Officer.  In 1995 he entered the FBI Academy in Quantico VA, and graduated as a Special Agent.  Special Agent Grimm was subsequently certified as an Undercover Agent.  For 5 ½ years he was in deep undercover in a variety of cases, including Operation Wooden Nickel as the first FBI Special Agent to successfully infiltrate Wall Street.  Mike served in the FBI for a total of 13 years, until 2006 when he diversified his experience by entering the private sector as an entrepreneur.  Michael opened2 small businesses, including a green company that provides quality control and distribution of bio-fuels. 
 
Special Agent Grimm has been endorsed by Senior Giuliani Advisor—Jake Menges (Giuliani’s popularity remains strong on Staten Island), former Staten Island Borough President & Cong Guy Molinari (Ret), Cong Susan Molinari (Ret), longtime Republican Operative--Susan Del Percio, and former Vito Fossella Advisor--Michael Hook.  Mike Grimm is not supported by the Republican party bosses in New York City, he is a refreshing new face; Mike raised $310,000 in the last quarter of 2009; his closest rival, who is supported by the party bosses raised $118,000; no Republican has been officially endorsed.
