GRIMM CALLS PELOSI COMMENTS OUTRAGEOUS

Calls for Mike McMahon to join him in calling for her resignation.

Michael Grimm today called on House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to resign after she called for an investigation of those who oppose the recently proposed Muslim Mosque near "Ground Zero" in New York City.

"As someone who has fought on the battlefield to protect the liberty and freedoms we hold dear as a country, the fact that Speaker Pelosi would call for an investigation of those who disagree with her is unconscionable," said Grimm. "Her comments clearly demonstrate that she does not have the temperament to lead the House of Representatives."

Grimm has been an outspoken opponent of the proposed Mosque calling for Congress to investigate the funding sources and asking New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg to reconsider his support.

Grimm also called on his opponent in November's Congressional election, Mike McMahon, to join him in calling for her removal.

"Mike McMahon voted for her has Speaker. He now has an obligation to join me in calling for her resignation based on these comments," said Grimm.
