Rep. Grimm Statement on the 236th Birthday of the U.S. Marine Corps

Rep. Michael G. Grimm (R,C-NY) issued the following statement:

“Today we celebrate the birthday of the United States Marine Corps. For the last 236 years, Marines have fought tirelessly to preserve the freedom of the United States and the traditions of the Corps. As a Marine combat veteran, I am truly honored to have served my country alongside some of the finest Americans our nation has ever seen. I remain grateful to the service of my fellow Marines who have defended, and continue to defend, the United States for over two centuries.

“I join my fellow Marines around the world in honoring all who have earned the Eagle, Globe and Anchor and saluting those who follow in their footsteps, heeding the call to service that drives all who carry the title United State Marine.

“On this 236th birthday, I remain steadfastly committed to ensuring that as long as there is a United States of America that there will always be a United States Marine Corps to defend it.

“Semper Fidelis!”
