The Supreme Court supported it, but it doesn't mean Republicans will stand for it.

The GOP majority in the House of Representatives, including Staten Island Rep. Michael Grimm, has voted to repeal the Affordable Health Care Act. that was first signed into law in 2010.

It's the 33rd time the House GOP majority has undertaken a move to overturn the law. Like the previous attempts, this one will not succeed -- the measure has no chance of passing in the Democrat-led U.S. Senate.

Why proceed with the political theater, then? Political observers say it's all designed by the House GOP to keep Democrats on the defensive about President Obama's top domestic accomplishment. The hope is that voters will agree with the GOP's attack, and vote Obama out of office in November.

Grimm is an ardent backer of repeal. "I have consistently opposed the health care law because of its economy-crushing taxes and steep price tag, which harm our businesses and do little to address the core issue facing our healthcare system - increasing costs," the congressman said in a statement shortly after the vote. "This law hurts our seniors with steep cuts to Medicare, does nothing to create jobs, and jeopardizes the care that many of New York's families and individuals rely on."
