Rep. Grimm Outraged by MTA Toll Hike Proposal on Verrazano Bridge

WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Michael G. Grimm (R,C-NY) sent a letter today to the Metropolitan Transit Authority (MTA) in strong opposition to a proposal to raise the toll on the Verrazano Bridge from $13 to $15. The toll hike is one revenue-raising proposal being considered by the MTA as part of a larger plan to raise fares on commuters.

Grimm (R,C-NY) applauded the decision announced by the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) late this afternoon to  add 50 new cancers to the list of diseases covered by the James Zadroga 9/11 Health and Compensation Act.  The final rule will be published September 12th and go into effect 30 days later.
